Dr Elliot D. Cohen is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the National Philosophical Counseling Association. He is a Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine at Florida State University. He is also a Professor and Chair of the Department of Humanities at Indian River State College.

Dr Cohen is the Founder and President of the Logic-Based Therapy and Consultation Institute aimed at building on Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy. His clinical research focuses on how philosophical and psychological forms of counseling can complement one another to help people overcome mental health problems.

The author of many books that have been translated into several languages, Dr Cohen has written extensively about applied philosophy, counseling ethics, perfectionism and more. He is also the Founder and Editor of the International Journal of Applied Philosophy and the International Journal of Philosophical Practice.

A regular media commentator, Dr Cohen has been featured in Time Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, New York Times Magazine, London Observer, Family Circle Magazine and other mainstream media.
