How do your courses work?

We offer two types of courses: Courses with Expert Support and Self-Directed Courses. Courses with Expert Support: These courses run on intakes and have scheduled start dates throughout the year. The first week of course material is released at midnight PST on course start date. You'll receive a welcome email with information on how to log in and get started. Each subsequent week, new content is released, with the learning experiences designed to be completed sequentially (no skipping ahead!), allowing you time to practice new skills as you learn. Throughout the course, you can log into your Psychwire account from anywhere, at any time, allowing you to learn at your own pace. There's no need to be online at a specific time but we recommend setting aside 2 - 3 hours per week, depending on your course, to stay up to date. Expert support is provided through our interactive online forum. You'll be able to ask questions and share experiences with expert trainers and your fellow course participants. You'll also have access to the course library filled with additional resources, and bonus content designed to enrich your learning experience. At the end of the course content, there is an additional grace period of at least one month for review access. You can use this time to catch up on the course or dig deeper into some of the topics we have covered. The course card in My Dashboard will let you know how much course access you still have available. Self-Directed Courses: Self-directed courses are available immediately - you don't need to wait for a start date! You can log in and begin learning immediately, progressing through course at your own pace. You'll have access to a library packed with downloadable resources, and each course contains bonus 'dig deeper' content designed to enrich your learning experience. Throughout the course you can log into your Psychwire account from anywhere at any time and there's no need to be online at a specific time. Certificates will be available for download in My Dashboard after all content has been completed, and for CE Certificates, if all requirements have been met.

Do I need to be online at a specific time?

You don't need to be online at a specific time! You can log in and out at a time that suits you, learning at your own pace. If your course has a forum, trainers will be online throughout the week to answer questions, but please allow a couple of days for your questions to be answered.

What happens if I miss a week or fall behind?

All our courses are self-paced so if you miss a week, or fall behind, don't worry. You can catch up at a time that suits you! In addition, each course has a grace period after all content has been released, and this bonus time can be used catch up on any missed work. You can find out when your course access finishes in My Dashboard. If you are experiencing extenuating circumstances, please contact customer support and we may be able to move you to a different intake.

How much time should I dedicate to the course?

Course with Expert Support: We recommend setting aside 2 - 3 hours per week to stay up to date. However, if you fall behind or miss a week, don't worry. Each course has a grace period of at least one month where you can catch up or review the weekly work. Self-directed Courses: You'll have access to the course for 3 - 12 months, depending on the course. This is ample time to complete the course and revise content you really enjoyed. However, we recommend scheduling some time each week to dive into the course and practice your new skills. Please note that we are unable to provide extensions. We encourage all participants to be mindful of when their course access ends to ensure they have ample time to complete the course. You can find out when your course access finishes in My Dashboard.

Who are the courses suitable for?

All our courses are designed for mental health professionals, those who are licensed, interning or studying in the field, both undergraduate and postgraduate. This can include but is not limited to counselors, coaches, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, GPs, OTs, social and youth workers.

How does the forum work?

The forum is designed to provide you with expert support as you learn. You can ask questions about the course material and share experiences as you develop new skills. Both the trainers and your fellow course participants can reply, providing a rich community of learners. The trainers will be online during the week to answer questions, but please allow a few days for replies. Just note that trainers are active in the forum during the course, but not during the extra access time at the end.

What is a CE/CME Credit?

The United States of America and Canada require health professionals to accrue CE/CME (Continuing Education) credits in order to maintain their licenses or registrations. These credits are gained through approved educational activities which serve to develop professional knowledge and performance. CE/CME Credit certificates are submitted to licensing guilds within the U.S.A. and Canada. Please check the Learner Notifications found in the course Frequently Asked Questions for further information about approved state boards.

What are the requirements for CE/CME Credits?

1.. The course must be completed in full. 2. An overall quiz score of at least 75%. Quiz questions from the entire course are included in this overall total. The pre-test quizzes are practice only and are not included in your overall total. You must answer questions correctly within three attempts. 3. Payment of a non-refundable $20 USD processing fee paid before the completion of your course. 4. Submission of a post-course evaluation form. If you're still enrolled in a course and would like CE/CME credits, but have not paid the $20 USD processing fee, please contact us via the chat icon on your screen or at support@psychwire.org . Please note that payment must be made before your course finishes.

How can I obtain CE/CME credits?

Here's how you can obtain CE/Credits for your course: Add CE/CMEs when you're enrolling in the course at checkout, or reach out to support@psychwire.org before your course access ends to purchase CE/CME credits. Complete your course in full. Achieve an overall quiz score of at least 75% across all quiz questions in your course (any practice quiz questions are not included!). Submit a post-course evaluation form at the end of your course. Just note that we can't add CE/CME credits after your course access has ended. Tell me more about quiz questions and score calculations in your courses

Tell me about the quizzes: Quizzes are found at the end of each week or section in your course. An overall quiz score of 75% or higher is required in order to receive CE/CME credits. All quiz questions in the course are counted towards your overall score, except practice quizzes. We'll let you know if you're taking a practice quiz! Most questions are multiple choice with some true/false. Tell me what happens if I get a question wrong: You have three attempts to answer a multiple choice question correctly. True/False questions have one attempt. If you can't answer the question correctly within these requirements, your answer will be marked as incorrect. * Please note that we cannot offer makeup exams, as per the requirements of our certifying board for CE/CME Credits. How is the overall score calculated? Each weekly or section quiz contributes to your overall score. At the end of the course, your total is calculated. Eg 56 / 70 = 80%. An overall quiz score of 75% or higher is required in order to receive CE/CME credits.

How much of my course do I need to complete to earn a certificate?

The certificate you will be awarded is dependent on your course progress, and for a CE Certificate, if you have met all other requirements. Each participant who has completed the course in full will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. If you’ve completed at least 75% of the course, you’ll be given a Letter of Participation. CE Certificates will be awarded if the following criteria has been met: 1. An overall quiz score of at least 75%. Quiz questions from the entire course are included in this overall total. Any pre-test quizzes are practice only and are not included in your overall total. You must answer the question correctly within three attempts. 2. The course must be completed in full. 3. Is this course approved for CPD in Australia?

AHPRA is the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and governs multiple occupations including psychologists, doctors and nurses. The different governing bodies under the AHPRA umbrella have their own specific set of guidelines to be followed by their members, and educational institutions such as Psychwire are not involved in this process. Why are there no courses in My Dashboard

If you have logged into your Psychwire account and there are no courses displayed in My Dashboard, please check the following: Are you using the same email address when you enrolled in your course? I haven’t received an email regarding the start of my course

At midnight PST on the date the course commences, you will receive a Welcome email with information on how to get started and what to expect in the coming weeks. If you are unable to locate your Welcome email, please check your spam/junk folder as it might have been redirected there. Once your course is available, you can log into My Dashboard any time to access.

Can I enroll if the course has already started?

Registrations will stay open for one week after the course has started. However, our courses launch throughout the year so if you’ve missed the first week, you can register for the next course offering. Check out our webpage for up to date information about course start dates psychwire.com or subscribe to our newsletter to hear about the latest course offerings.

Can I defer the course?

Before the course begins: We're happy to help if you can't attend the current intake. Please contact our customer service once your enrollment is finalized, and we can enroll you in the intake of your choice. During the course: If you find yourself falling behind and don't think you'll be able to finish the course, please fill in the form here and we can discuss your options. What's your refund and cancellation policy?

If you’re unsatisfied or you’re unable to complete the course, we’re able to provide a full refund, providing you let us know within seven days of the course beginning. After this time, if you’re unsatisfied, please contact the customer service team and we’ll work with you directly to resolve your issue. If you’re facing difficult extenuating circumstances, please contact our customer service team as we may be able to defer you to a later intake. If Psychwire Australia PTY LTD has to delay the start date of a course, all registrants will be notified by email and you’ll be given an opportunity to request a refund. If a course is cancelled, participants will be notified by email and full refunds will be given. Is it safe to pay online?

Absolutely - our online payments are processed by Braintree ( https://www.braintreepayments.com/au/features/data-security ). You can feel confident knowing your payment information is secure.

Why was I charged a foreign transaction fee?

Psychwire Pty Limited is located in Australia where we produce and distribute the online courses and for this reason, your transaction is processed in Australia. On rare occasions, a foreign transaction fee is charged by your issuing bank. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any details on the amount of the fee and whether it will be applied as this fee is NOT charged by Psychwire. The vast majority of our international sales have not incurred a fee at all, with only a very small percentage receiving a minor charge. Psychwire Pty Ltd does not hold responsibility for this charge and if you are charged a foreign transaction fee, please contact your bank directly.

What equipment do I need to complete a course?

A computer - please note your experience will be better on a computer as our courses are not optimized for mobile at this stage. Internet connection - we recommend updating so you have the latest version of your internet browser. Headphones or speaker to listen to course content. Optional: PDF viewer Printer to print any library documents

I'm having problems playing the videos, accessing the modules or downloading content

Please start by refreshing your browser as that often sorts things out. But if that doesn't work, it may be that the course is not compatible with your browser so we recommend you try the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Also, please make sure you do not have any firewalls or malware blockers that may be causing an issue. If you are using a computer at work, you may need to contact your IT department. If you experience slow video playback, or if the video frequently starts then stops, the solution is to change the playback quality. To resolve this, click on the 'Gear' icon in the video playback window and select one of the lower resolution settings.
